Every year FIRST releases a new game; this year they announced Logomotion--in honor of Jack Kamen--, an exciting game where teams form alliances of three robots each. Robots score points by placing tubes on a three by three rack.

The field has three zones--the center of the field, and two zones on each side of the field. The outermost "team zone" is the "warning zone", where a robot is reaching the next zone. The innermost zone--that is, the zone closest to the team itself--is the scoring zone. No opponent robots may enter this zone.

The game lasts for 2 minutes, with 15 seconds of "autonomous mode" before the team can control it.

During the last twenty seconds the game enters Finale mode. During this timeframe, robots may deploy a minibot up one of the two poles on their side. If they succeed, they are awarded many points. The first minibot to get up the pole awards the team 30 points; the second 25, the third 20, and the fourth 15.
